Presented by Jeff Wood, Retired Educator/H.S. Counselor

All of us, at times, let our emotions get the best of us. Perhaps you currently feel overwhelmed; find yourself immobilized by anxiety and/or fear; or you just can’t let go of your anger. Perhaps you are experiencing grief resulting from a significant loss which has you wondering if things will ever get better? Whether these situations describe your current state of being or not, this workshop is for You, since all of us will feel unhealthy negative emotions throughout our lives. More than any one factor, emotions determine the quality of our lives. It is time to take control of yours.

This experiential workshop will explore healthy, productive living through the development of skills used to effectively manage your emotions. Through an engaging introductory activity, you will uncover the source of your unhealthy negative emotional responses. You will discover that you are responsible for choosing how you feel from day to day, and what is driving your behavior. In short, you will become aware of the simple mystery underlying healthy emotional living. Using Albert Ellis’ Rational Emotive Behavioral Theory as our framework, this workshop is designed to connect each participant with strategies that will result in a much more rewarding and peaceful existence. Come prepared to explore your beliefs, attitudes, habits and values, as we uncover the tools used to assist in purposeful living.

Join us at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church (725 – 75 th St., Darien, IL) on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM. The program will run between 1.5 and 2 hours depending on the needs of the assembled group. All are welcome.
